BOJ keeps interest rates steady, sticks to recovery view
If you think your healthcare costs are locked in once you hit 65, you’re living in a fantasy world. A recent report highlighted by MarketWatch warns that standard Part B premiums could nearly double over the next decade. Based on current projections, you could easily be paying $5,000 a year for basic coverage by 2035. And that’s just the base rate. If you’ve been diligent about saving and have a higher income, you’ll be penalized with surcharges that push your monthly bill substantially higher. Because Medicare Part B premiums are usually deducted directly from your benefits, it’s a harsh reality…
Ford is recalling more than 840,000 Ford Bronco and Edge vehicles, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall for the two Ford models is due to a fault in the cars’ accessory protocol interface module, which the notice says can overheat and shut down, preventing the “rearview camera image from displaying as intended.” “A rearview camera that fails to display an image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” the recall notice continued. Here’s what to know about the recall. What Ford Vehicles Are Affected by…
A first‑class stamp could soon cost nearly $1, as the U.S. Postal Service warns it may run out of money by 2027 and looks to raise prices to stay afloat. During a Tuesday, March 17, appearance before Congress, Postmaster General David Steiner said the price of a first‑class stamp could rise to 90 to 95 cents, up from 78 cents. Steiner said higher prices are one of the few options available as the agency faces mounting losses. Raising stamp prices to as much as 95 cents, he told lawmakers, “would largely solve our controllable loss.” The warning comes as USPS…

Robert Schick, a spokesperson for the city, told USA TODAY on Wednesday, March 18 that the company has indicated they’ll open the location in June. It will be Costco’s largest…
Stocks tumbled after the Federal Reserve concluded a two-day policy meeting March 18 with no change to interest rates, citing uncertainty from the war in Iran and concerns about inflation. The Dow and the S&P 500 fell to their lowest levels since November, down 1.6% and 1.4% respectively. The tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 1.5%. Bonds tumbled, with the 10-year U.S. note up nearly 6 basis points to about 4.26%. Bond yields and prices move in opposite directions, and investors have been selling bonds as inflation heats up. Earlier in the morning, a measure of wholesale price inflation was hotter than analysts…

Andrey Bayda / Shutterstock.com It’s a good thing one bad Apple doesn’t spoil the bunch, because the company has had a lot of duds over the years. Remembering a time before the reign of the iPhone has gotten harder, but not every product can be that successful. Especially if you’ve been in business for almost half a century. (Apple Computer was founded in 1976, when co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak hand-built computers in Jobs’ garage.) Following are some of the weirdest and biggest flops Apple has ever made and what made people dislike them. Apple HomePod Eric Broder Van…
