Rising gas prices have prompted some drivers to give electric cars another look, and one EV in particular sits atop Consumer Reports new rankings of battery ranges: the Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer Reports said the Chevrolet Silverado had the highest battery range in both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s estimates, which are used on showroom stickers, and its own real-world testing. Your local airport could get shut down if Congress doesn’t agree on funding for the Department of Homeland Security. Transportation Security Administration officers missed their first full paycheck last week, and security lines at airports stretched well outside the terminals at some facilities as security employees called out to seek other sources of income. Volkswagen is recalling over 45,000 vehicles over concerns related to a loose transmission ground wire. The March 11 recall posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the defect could increase the risk of a fire. “The transmission ground wire may not have been properly connected during assembly, causing an open electrical circuit,” the agency stated.
