Carnival Cruise Line canceled nearly a dozen voyages scheduled to depart later this year.
“Due to changes to itinerary plans, we have cancelled sailings aboard Carnival Firenze scheduled between October 12, 2026, and November 16, 2026,” the cruise line told USA TODAY in an emailed statement. A total of 11 cruises were impacted.
Guests booked on those itineraries and their travel advisors were informed.
“We have apologized to our impacted guests and are offering them the option to rebook another Carnival cruise with their cruise fare protected on a comparable sailing in similar accommodations, along with an onboard credit,” Carnival said. “Guests who choose not to reschedule will receive a full refund of their cruise fare and any pre-purchased items to the original form of payment.”
Cruise cancellations are relatively uncommon but do happen for reasons including ship charters or when vessels need to go into dry dock for refurbishment or maintenance. Norwegian Cruise Line, for example, scrapped months of sailings last year across four ships.
“While we try to maintain original itineraries as much as possible, at times modifications are made to optimize voyages to meet guest demand or due to changing port availability,” the company said in an emailed statement at the time.
