Harley-Davidson is recalling nearly 17,000 motorcycles in the U.S. due to an issue with the rear brakes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The agency says the rear brake line on the affected models may contact the body control module (BCM), resulting in a hole in the brake line, a brake fluid leak and potentially the loss of the rear brakes.
The motorcycle manufacturer said it will replace the BCM caddy and associated hardware, free of charge. Additionally, the rear brake line will be inspected and, if damaged, will be replaced along with associated parts for free.
Here’s what to know about the recall and what models are included.
