More than 200,000 pairs of heated socks sold at Costco are being recalled after officials received reports of people suffering first and second-degree burns, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The CPSC’s recall notice posted on Thursday, April 23, said that the “32 Degrees Heated Socks” could pose an “injury hazard, including burns,” when the user is performing high-intensity activities that generate a combination of “heat, excessive friction, moisture and pressure.”
The 207,000 recalled socks were sold at Costco stores and online between August 2025 and March 2026, priced from $30 to $46 per pair. The recall notice said the socks were sold in three sizes: medium, large and extra large, all in the color black.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the heated socks and return them to Costco for a full refund,” the CPSC said.
According to the CPSC, 14 “heat-related incidents” have been reported, with 13 of them involving first or second-degree burns.
What Should Customers Do?
The CPSC asks any customer who has the recalled socks to immediately stop using them and return them to Costco for a full refund. For customers who purchased the recalled socks online, the recall can be done through Costco’s online return portal.
